Look, we started Free Journal because we were tired of tech reviews that felt like they were written by robots. Or worse, robots being paid by gadget companies. We wanted something different. A place where real people could read what we actually think about the stuff we test — the good, the bad, and the surprisingly mediocre. No corporate speak. No affiliate link spam disguised as advice. Just 47 of us (well, okay, a small team that feels like 47 when we're all arguing about whether that new phone is actually worth the money) telling you what's up. We've been doing this since 2016, and somehow people keep coming back.

Our Story
We started in a cramped Ljubljana apartment with three people, two laptops, and way too much coffee. The goal was stupid simple: write reviews nobody else was writing. Nobody was talking about how that fancy camera failed in actual sunlight. Nobody mentioned the AirPods that constantly disconnected. By year two, we'd tested 340+ products. By year five, we were hitting half a million readers monthly. Then people started asking us to review more stuff, and we couldn't say no. Now we've got a proper team, better equipment, and still the same obsession with getting it right.
